Making the RIGHT choice
Many safer cleaning alternatives are available today, however deciding which ones are better for you and the environment or are just designed to look that way, is not that easy. A good way of selecting the safest products with guaranteed results is to look for products that bear an official environmental label, endorsed by the government, such as Environmental Choice New Zealand.
Bio-Fresh products are currently working through the tough process of getting certificated so they can proudly wear the ECNZ badge.
ECNZ – A more sustainable future
Environmental Choice New Zealand (ECNZ) is an official environmental badge which provides solid, independent proof of environmental performance.
The Environmental Choice New Zealand badge represents a product that minimises negative impact on the environment and people. Products with the ECNZ badge have been independently assessed against stringent, world class criteria across their whole life cycle.
Owned and endorsed by the Ministry for the Environment and a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network, the Environmental Choice New Zealand label is New Zealand’s only Type I ecolabel. Important characteristics of a Type I ecolabel include:
- Rigorous multi-criteria assessment
- Independent third party verification
- Ongoing compliance
- Criteria are written locally to address local environmental issues
- Criteria are updated regularly to encourage continuous improvement

Commercial MPI approved cleaners
Bio-Fresh products all carry MPI Approval.
What does this mean?
If you process non-dairy animal products, such as meat and game, you must meet hygiene standards for your equipment and environment under the Animal Products Act (APA) 1999. You should use only approved cleaning and sanitising products, known as maintenance compounds.
MPI maintains a list that will give you summary information on all approved non-dairy maintenance compounds.
